About Us
ISOMA was established in 1983, with the original company emphasis in the field of process engineering and stainless‑steel fabrication, working mainly for the local dairy and brewing industries.
Towards the end of the 1980s, we were offered the opportunity by several dairy customers to expand our capabilities into conveyors. Initially, we worked on small changes and modifications to existing production lines, but gradually gained greater knowledge and insight into the design and manufacture of conveyor systems in general.
The early 1990s saw the rapid advent of the HDPE plastic “poly bottle” in the UK dairy industry as the container of choice for the supply of liquid milk. This period also saw ISOMA launch a suite of newly developed bottle de‑bagging machines, bottle elevators, de‑elevators, and conveyor systems designed specifically for the handling and transportation of these new lightweight and easily damaged containers.
The success of these early systems brought about expansion, prompting a move into new purpose‑built premises in Swadlincote, Derbyshire, in 1997. This enabled the company to sustain its growth, continue developing new products, and constantly enhance the services we could offer to customers.
ISOMA today focuses on the design, manufacture, installation, and integration of specialist materials‑handling systems, offering assistance to customers at every stage of a project-from initial feasibility studies through to final system validation and commencement of production.
We offer a range of standard packaging machinery developed to complement our conveyor systems, all of which are manufactured completely in‑house. We also specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke machinery to suit individual requirements.
We have a long‑established team at ISOMA, with around 45 permanent staff based at our Swadlincote premises, covering all aspects of the business. Our team has the necessary skills and expertise to ensure that customers can be confident of receiving a first‑class service-whether for a small stand‑alone conveyor or a complete product‑handling turnkey system.
