When small capacity milk bottles such as single pints are processed, they need to be stacked directly on top of each other in rows and have a slip-sheet, usually made from corrugated cardboard or plastic, inserted onto the top of the bottom row. This allows the upper row to be placed onto a flat surface. The bottles are then double-stacked by an automated mechanical packer into the common dairy trolleys for transportation to the client.

Key Components of Slip Sheet Automation:

  • A slip-sheet hopper holds pre-cut stacks of sheets ready for picking.

  • Slip-sheets are picked up via suction and positioned accurately.

  • Slip-sheets help weight distribution providing a flat, smooth surface.

  • The process is consistent and repeatable.
