Shrink Packs

GA942-095 MK9 LH cw Shrink Adj (Lakeland FED 2).png

Our fully automated mechanical trolley packers handle shrink packs of multiple full milk bottles, often twenty per pack, for the dairy industry that can weigh a considerable amount. The trolley packers can pick, collate and push through hundreds of thousands of film-wrapped packs a day depending on the requirements. They are loaded in and rotated as required to then fit exactly into common dairy trolleys.

Fully automated robots are utilised to remove the full trolleys from the packers and back into the work area for operators to handle manually once more. This eliminates heavy manual lifting and reduces the proximity of operators to moving machinery. It accelerates dairy packing speeds, and transitions shrink packs seamlessly from the conveyor to the trolley to the transport vehicle for delivery to the client.

System Workflow & Operation:

  • Shrink packs of milk bottles arrive via production conveyors from a thermal shrink wrapper.

  • The automated system groups the shrink bundles into patterns matching the dimensions of the milk trolley shelves.

  • Once a tier is filled, the trolley automatically indexes vertically to load the next shelf.

  • The process is consistent and repeatable.
